These and many other questions are what so many Kenyans out there are asking. The skepticism I get when out there sourcing for clients is amazing!
Quite amazing actually, it baffles me how much you have to push, to try to
show a potential client the power of the Internet....!!
I mean at this age and time? and still there's somebody who needs hammering about how the internet can reach a bigger audience than our national Television stations, or how it can even be redefined to Target Marketing (creation of a market niche) thereby allowing only those interested in your products or services to follow your updates and new products (Subscription Emailing) via Emails.
To answer your questions let me start by clarifying what Internet Marketing and Advertising really is............
Internet Marketing & Advertising :-
The inside story is very simple but unimaginably endless....!! Yes endless.... why do I say endless? For one, the internet is new everyday. Even regular internet users receive it differently every single day; with new websites, newly discovered websites(already existing without your knowledge), new offers, new users, new packages, new methods of doing your regular internet stuff. Updates come out faster than you can get accustomed to the earlier version......its just full of everything and we love it. Period. I mean my internet lovers- addict is such a strong word -will definitely throw me a hell yeah to this. That's why we keep coming back. Everything is just glamorous and FREE and oh so "picture-ry" and flashy and so exciting because we can share it on Facebook or Twitter or Linked In and so many other social media websites which run into hundreds if not thousands already.
And now you will probably ask, how is all this important? Especially to me, " A busy BusinessMan"
Mr. I sit in the office and write up serious Marketing policies for my company since 1960's so the Television and the Radio and the Dailies are the only way to get anywhere! Heck they are even the most expensive modes of marketing in Kenya compared to all other advertising and marketing models although they are closely followed by Billboards and recently.... Digital Screens Advertising.
Mr. I will block all access to facebook so that my employees can work.... he he he .....I laugh at your ignorance.
Mr. facebook and twitter is for my daughter to get naughty with boys and friends.
Well guess what? Surprise surprise, you are the only one without at least a twitter page in your whole company! Yes even your fellow Directors kick back and unwind with it! My man Chris Kirubi Updates his facebook page religiously every morning to leave an Inspiring message that gets the attention of over 300 facebook fans everyday through comments and likes.
Every Kenyan knows who I'm talking about and any Foreigner who is anyone can attest to this, that everyone (the Male species in particular) under the age of 20 to 40 and is not an MP, secretly wants to be him...!!!! I swear
Fact: Not everyone who has a TV watches it and there's are chances that they wont be watching when your million budget advert is running so your audience will miss it. And if what you're selling is services- something we cant randomly buy at a store -then no luck, I'm sorry. Same goes for Radio, Newspapers, and Billboards which will actually need you to be traveling on some highway to see it. I noticed that even some Billboards are put up in High class areas so the common man will never know what this product is and your target market in these areas is busy rushing(driving) to a business meeting even busy to look at the Daily newspaper but we can always have time to peek into our facebook account whether on a computer or via Mobille phones. Thanks to the Chinese..........
Everyone with a social media account always goes to check their inbox once in a while and we also check our emails a lot in the process and we read the messages before we delete what we don't need and leave what we like. Therefore even a message sent two weeks back will still get the attention intended...........

Effective Keyword research is the trick and back-bone to effective Optimization since everything is built on their guidelines including optimizing for particular Keywords for Search Engine visibility.
